A meeting of the ruling United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)- on Wednesday warned the government of mass resignation if the big guns did not heed the calls of Madhes-based parties on federalism.
Today’s meeting of the UDMF in Singha Durbar perceived flaws on 11-pradesh model federalism agreed by three major political parties- UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML.
Sadbhawana party leader Rajendra Mahato warned of stir if the decision is not redressed.
UDMF, an alliance of five Madhes-based parties is in favor of having either 14 pradeshes as recommended by Constituent Assembly’s thematic committee or 10 pradeshes as recommended by State Reconstructing Commission.
Madhes-based parties will resume talks in the evening as well.
